"Alive Through Christ"
For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.
1 Corinthians 15:21-22 (NKJV)
The first man and woman were created in perfection and without sin. They enjoyed a very personal and uninterrupted relationship living in the presence their Creator. Among the many gifts that God gave the man and woman was freewill - the freedom to choose. “And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." Genesis 2:16-17
Adam and Eve had 2 basic choices: (1) Trust God through their obedience and enjoy His goodness forever. (2) Trust their own judgement by disobeying God and suffering the consequences. Unfortunately, they chose the latter, eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. On that same day, they died a spiritual death just as God had said, and later they would die a physical death. The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Had they obeyed God and not sinned, there would be no death. Further consequences of their disobedience - sin entered into the world, corrupting all of creation with all manner of evil and everything began to die. For in Adam all die." But thanks be to God, in Christ all shall be made alive.
Jesus Christ the Son of God came to redeem mankind from the bondage and penalty of sin. It is only by grace are we saved through faith in Him, (Ephesians 2:8). Be saved today!
