The foundation of the now General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina was destined for greatness, designed for opportunities, and determined to succeed despite the beliefs from those that thought differently about African-American Baptists. State Missions represents our response to the spiritual and physical needs of our state.

The National Baptist Convention, USA is a prominent Baptist denomination headquartered in Nashville, TN affiliated and is with the Baptist World Alliance. It is one of the largest predominantly African American churches in the United States with over 7.5 million members and approximately 30,000 congregants. The convention focuses on various ministries, including education, missions, and the publication of religious literature, and is structured around local congregations, district associations, and state conventions.

The Association demonstrates its commitment to education and the spread of the gospel. The Union Missionary Baptist Association has 62 churches and continues to thrive by the grace and will of God.

The Lott Carey movement is rooted in the dedication of African American Baptists to significant missionary work, particularly in Africa. They have evolved into a multicultural, ecumenical, global Christian mission community, with African American Baptist roots, offering prayer, financial backing, and technical support to local communities worldwide.
